Christopher Nicholson (b.1956) has published three novels and one work of non-fiction. His first novel, The Fattest Man In America (2005), was followed by The Elephant Keeper (2009), shortlisted for the Costa Novel Award and the Encore Award, and then by Winter (2014), which describes a crisis in the late life of Thomas Hardy. Nicholson's most recent work is Among the Summer Snows (2017), a meditation on life and loss set in the Scottish mountains, shortlisted for the 2017 Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature. He lives in south-west England.
