Madibaland World Literary Festival: Shantanu Guha Ray

Shantanu Guha Ray is a seasoned journalist who has spent over three decades in the profession and just finished his book on diamonds - his fifth book - after travelling for more than four months across Africa and Europe. His previous book, Target, which explored a scandal in the Indian commodities market, was published in 15 editions and helped him win the 2017 Crossword Books award as the nation's best non-fiction writer in the business category. He also wrote books on spot fixing in cricket, urban murders and a biography of MS Dhoni, a former Indian cricket captain. A TedEx speaker and widely travelled lecturer, he is also a visiting faculty at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ahmedabad. He has just finished a book on coal and politics surrounding it in India. He worked with some of the topmost Indian media houses like India Today, The Times of India and Outlook and was also the India head of ESPN Star Sports for long. Currently, he is the India head of Central European News (CEN), a Vienna-based news agency and a columnist for Money Control, India's top business portal. He is also the India Editor of Bharat FM, the biggest radio channel for Indians across the United States. He lives in New Delhi with his family.
