Mural Village

Mike Norris, who in October 2011 painted the "derelict" tractor (a 1937 Fordson) on the wall of a building in Richmond, hails from Howick in Kwazulu Natal.  He has painted for a number of years in oils, and specialises on a much smaller scale in subjects including landscapes, seascapes as well as the more niche subjects of vintage tractors, historic buildings, aircraft, and yachts.  His work has been commissioned by many people and hangs in homes around South Africa and in several countries overseas.

Mike has had several successful private exhibitions, and his work currently can be seen at the Victoria Rose Gallery in Nottingham Road (Natal) and on its facebook, as well as on his own website.

Booktown Richmond "Muraltown", has again invited Mike to Richmond for the forthcoming J.M. Coetzee Book Festival this month, and to celebrate the event Mike will be painting two more murals in Richmond.  He and his wife Maryanne regard these visits to Richmond as the highlights of their calendar - " This is one very very special part of the world !
