Kirsten Miller's first novel, All is Fish (Jacana 2007), was shortlisted for the Jacana/EU Literary Award. In 2014 she published Sister Moon (Umuzi), and in 2018 The Hum of the Sun (Kwela) followed. The unpublished manuscript of The Hum of the Sun won the Wilbur and Niso Smith Foundation prize. After publication it won the 2019 Aziz Hassim Literary Award, was also short-listed for the Herman Charles Bosman prize and long-listed for the prestigious International Dublin Literary Award. All That Is Left (Kwela 2020) is her fourth novel. The unpublished manuscript won the 2017 Aziz Hassim Literary Award. Kirsten Miller has also published a non-fiction book, Children on the Bridge (Jacana 2006), about her early experiences working in the field of autism. She lives in Durban, South Africa.
